MENU BAR
Short answer
CleanUai puts a dot-matrix icon in the menu bar. One click opens a panel with CPU, memory, disk, network and battery, the apps using the most memory and quick actions: clean junk, empty the Trash, quit an app and open CleanUai. Closed, it’s designed to stay under 1% CPU.
What it shows
- CPU, memory and disk, on LED meters.
- Network: current download and upload speed.
- Battery, on MacBooks.
- Memory hogs: the apps using the most memory, with a button to quit each one.
Genuinely light
With the panel open, the numbers refresh every 2 seconds. Closed, the agent keeps only a light summary and is designed to stay under 1% CPU. It can open at login, and when you close the main window CleanUai stays in the menu bar.
Quick actions
Clean junk, empty the Trash (by holding, like in the app), quit the memory hogs and open CleanUai. Actions that clean go through the same license and the same guard as the app.
Step by step
- In CleanUai’s Settings, turn on the menu bar agent (and Open at login, if you like).
- Click the icon in the menu bar to open the panel.
- Use the quick actions, or open CleanUai for the rest.
Questions
Does the agent slow my Mac down?
It shouldn’t: closed, it’s designed to stay under 1% CPU, and it only samples every 2 seconds while the panel is open.
Does quitting an app from the menu bar lose unsaved work?
CleanUai asks the app to quit, like Quit in the Dock does. The app may ask whether you want to save.
