Channel 06 · Shortcut ⌘6
TRASH
Short answer
CleanUai’s channel 06 shows how many items are in the macOS Trash, how much space they still take and which ones are the biggest. Emptying deletes for good, so it only happens if you hold the button until the LED fills. A stray click deletes nothing.
Why the Trash has a channel
Every CleanUai channel moves what you clean to the Trash, so you can undo it. That means you only get the space back when you empty it. Channel 06 shows that last step, with the exact size, and lets you check first.
Hold to empty
The empty button fills an LED while you hold it (with the mouse, the Space bar or Return). Let go early? Nothing happens. With VoiceOver or the keyboard, it becomes an action that opens a regular confirmation, since you can’t “hold” with a screen reader.
Empty it from the menu bar
The menu bar agent also has an Empty Trash action, without opening the app’s window.
Step by step
- Open channel 06 (
⌘6). - See the total and the biggest items. Need something back? Drag it out in the Finder.
- Hold Empty until the LED fills.
Questions
Is emptying the Trash in CleanUai different from the Finder?
The result is the same: the files are deleted for good. The difference is that you see the size and biggest items first, and you have to hold the button.
Can I recover files after emptying?
Not with CleanUai. Only from a backup, like Time Machine.
