CLEANUAI VS DAISYDISK

Short answer

DaisyDisk is focused on one thing: showing your disk as a map and deleting what’s heavy, for US$ 9.99 once. CleanUai costs the same and has a similar map, Space Lens, plus junk cleaning, an uninstaller with leftovers, an app updater and a menu bar monitor. The biggest everyday difference: DaisyDisk deletes for good, and CleanUai moves things to the Trash.

Where DaisyDisk is better

  • Just the map, done very well. It has been the app’s focus for years.
  • Cloud drives. It scans Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and Box.
  • System space. It breaks down “System Data”, purgeable space and APFS snapshots, which Space Lens doesn’t detail.
  • Up to 5 personal Macs on one license, and it runs on much older macOS versions.
  • It’s on the Mac App Store.

Where CleanUai is different

  • More than the map. System junk, uninstaller, leftovers, app updater and the menu bar, in one app.
  • It goes to the Trash. DaisyDisk’s guide says it deletes files permanently instead of moving them to the Trash, with 5 seconds to cancel. In CleanUai, everything goes through the Trash, and deleting for good needs a held button.
  • A complete trial. DaisyDisk’s trial shows the map but can’t delete. CleanUai’s 7 days have everything unlocked.

Which to choose

If you only want to see your disk, cloud and system space included, DaisyDisk is great. If you want the map and also want to clear caches, uninstall apps without leftovers and update everything, for the same price, CleanUai.
